It works early in the virus replication cycle by inhibiting the uncoating of virus particles in the host cell. It is used to prevent infection caused by influenza A virus strain and is used to synthesize antiviral drug intermediates.
Production method: Preparation method Adamantane bromide is catalyzed by aluminum tribromide and added with vinyl bromide. The product and potassium hydroxide are heated to eliminate two molecules of hydrogen bromide and obtain acetylene compounds. Then under the catalysis of mercury oxide, it is hydrated with sulfuric acid to obtain a ketone, then it is converted into an oxime with hydroxylamine, and finally reduced with lithium aluminum hydride (or catalytically hydrogenated under Pd/C) to obtain rimantadine.
